Jochen Haug

Allianz Asia Pacific

Jochen is the Regional Chief Underwriting Officer for Allianz Asia Pacific.

He is responsible for leading the function of Property & Casualty (P&C, including Technical Excellence, MidCorp Underwriting) and overseeing the functions of Legal, Compliance, Human Resources and Corporate Communications for Allianz in the region.

Jochen is also a member of the company’s Regional Executive Board, which is responsible for setting and executing Allianz’s growth strategy in Asia.

During his 16 years with the Allianz Group, Jochen has held several senior positions in different markets in Europe and Asia. He most recently served as the Chief Claims Officer of the P&C operating entity of Allianz in Germany (Allianz Versicherung) where he also served as a Member of the Board of Management. Prior to that, other positions he has held include Regional Chief Business Officer in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), Head of Property & Casualty Operations for Northern Germany, Regional Chief Financial Officer for Allianz Asia Pacific and Sales Area Manager at Allianz Germany.

Before joining Allianz, Jochen practiced law and worked with international law firms in Frankfurt, New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo. He is admitted as Attorney-at-Law in the U.S. (New York) as well as in Germany.

He graduated with a German law degree from the University of Tuebingen and a U.S. law degree (LL.M.) from the University of Michigan. He also holds a joint Global MBA degree from Columbia Business School / London Business School / Hong Kong University and is an AMP-Graduate from Harvard Business School.

Allianz has a strong regional network across Asia, and a regional office in Singapore’s Marina Bay financial district. Allianz services are offered in 15 countries across the region.
