Alan Smee, Chief Executive Officer and Country Manager of Allianz Insurance Lanka has decided to leave the company due to personal reasons. Prashant Grover will succeed Alan as Chief Executive Officer and Principal Officer of Allianz Insurance Lanka Ltd, effective February 1, 2024, subject to regulatory approval.
Alan has been with Allianz for more than 20 years in various roles across different entities. He joined Allianz Insurance Lanka on November 1, 2022, during a challenging period in Sri Lanka. Under his leadership, significant efforts were made to drive efficiency and enhance technical excellence within the company, notably with the launch of the Excellence Program. We express our appreciation for his invaluable contributions and wish him the best in his future undertakings.
Prashant, currently Regional Lead of Business Transformation at Allianz Asia Pacific, has been instrumental in supporting and steering Simplicity @ Scale regional Ops IT strategy, leading to the successful launch of Regional Technology Delivery model for Asia and the implementation of the first phase of Life & Health Core System (Project Lighthouse).
Prashant started with Allianz SE in 2007 and moved to Asia in 2011 before assuming the Regional Head of Operations position at AGCS, Asia Pacific, in 2013. In 2016, he became Chief Transformation Officer at Allianz P&C Thailand, in addition to his duties in the Partnership business in Thailand. Prashant was also responsible for Allianz Asia Pacific’s venture in micro finance, micro investment, and micro insurance in Vietnam with FinOS.
Enam Miah, Country Chief Financial Officer, will oversee the business operations and Summaiya Markar, Chief Legal, Compliance and Data Protection Officer will be the primary contact person for regulatory related matters, until Prashant officially assumes his new role.
