SINGAPORE, 24 July, 2020: Allianz has appointed Jon-Paul Jones as its new Regional Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Asia Pacific, effective August 31, 2020.
In this position, Jon-Paul will be responsible for regional Information Technology & Security, and Protection & Resilience, including P&L oversight of Allianz Digital Services (ADS). Additionally, he will have functional oversight of all local market COOs and Chief Information Officers in the Asia Pacific region.
Based in Allianz’s regional head office in Singapore, Jon-Paul Jones will report to Allianz Asia Pacific Regional CEO Solmaz Altin and serve as a member of the Allianz Asia Pacific Regional Executive Board.
With over 25 years of experience – most of which were in Asia – Jon-Paul brings tremendous expertise to his new role as COO. Prior to joining Allianz, Jon-Paul served as Global Chief Information Officer for AIG Operations based in Singapore. In his recent career, his roles were focused on technology leadership, including driving complex transformation programs, global infrastructure modernization, and operational support for non-US regions. Between 2013 and 2016, he held business roles as CEO for the non-life insurance companies in the Philippines and then Indonesia, in addition to leading agency-based insurance sales for Asia. Before joining AIG, Jon-Paul spent his early career in London at the National Grid Company before moving on to ING Barings.
Jon-Paul is a graduate of the University of Warwick with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science.
