- Alexander (Alex) Grenz will be appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Allianz Life Indonesia
- Joseph (Joe) Gross will succeed Alexander Grenz as Chief Executive Officer of Allianz PNB life
Alexander Grenz will be appointed as the incoming Country Manager, President Director, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PT Asuransi Allianz Life Indonesia (AZ Life Indonesia), subject to necessary approvals being obtained. He will succeed David Nolan, who is leaving the company.
Alex joins AZ Life Indonesia from Allianz PNB Life Insurance in the Philippines (AZPNB Life), where he is currently the President and CEO. Under his leadership, AZPNB Life rose to be the third largest life insurer in Gross Written Premiums and Annualised New Business Premiums, up from #11 in 2019. Today, AZPNB Life has the largest bancassurance partnership in the market and has received industry awards and recognition for strong performance, leadership, and employee engagement.
We are pleased to welcome Joe Gross back to Asia as the President and CEO of AZPNB Life. Currently the Head of Global Executive Strategy and Development in Allianz SE, he has contributed tremendously to driving the vision and strategy to strengthen the personal and professional growth of the Allianz Global Executive (AGE) population and talents. Joe has extensive experience in Asia, having served as the CEO of Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia from 2016 to 2022. Before this, he was the Global Head of Market Management and has been instrumental in building the Allianz brand and spearheading the Group’s customer-centricity agenda.
We thank David for his leadership and contribution to Allianz and wish him the very best in his future undertakings. In the interim, Bianto Surodjo, currently Business Director and a member of the Board of Directors of AZ Life Indonesia, will take the lead of AZ Life Indonesia until Alex’s appointment is effective.
