I would like to inform you that William Liang will be leaving Allianz to pursue new opportunities, effective 15 October 2026. Since becoming CEO of Allianz Jingdong General Insurance Company Ltd (AZJD) in September 2021, William has played an important role in advancing the company, overseeing significant growth in business scale while strengthening profitability and operational performance.
We are pleased to announce that John Chen will be appointed as General Manager / Chief Executive Officer of Allianz JD (AZJD) with effect from 16 October 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
John has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Most recently, he served as President of Swiss Re China and a member of its Asia Management Team. Prior to that, he spent 12 years with PICC P&C as Chief Actuarial Officer and Executive Committee member, leading product development, and pricing strategy. With extensive experience across both Chinese and international insurance markets, John brings a strong combination of actuarial expertise, strategic leadership, and deep industry knowledge as he takes on this role at Allianz JD.
