One Journey. One Team. One Allianz.

Success is rarely built in a single moment.

For Lim Lay Beng, it has been shaped through months of early mornings, disciplined training and the determination to keep showing up even when progress feels slow.

Outside her role as Head of Partnerships, Asia, Lay Beng has spent months preparing for an upcoming competitive swimming event. While the competition itself lasts only a short time, the journey behind it has been months in the making.

For Lay Beng, success has never been about the end result alone.

Journey Before the Race

Watch Journey Before the Race to hear Lay Beng share her story in her own words and discover the people who have supported her every step of the way.

That journey includes the lessons from difficult training sessions, the discipline needed to keep improving and the people who have supported her along the way. It is a simple reflection, but one that captures how she approaches both sport and work.

When asked who has been her biggest source of encouragement throughout her swimming journey, Lay Beng's answer wasn't about medals or milestones, but the colleagues she works with every day.

They ask how training is going. They celebrate the small wins. They encourage her through the difficult sessions and recognise the commitment she makes to reach her goal.

Lay Beng brings the same focus into her work at Allianz Asia Pacific (AZAP). Whether she is building partnerships across markets or working with colleagues around the region, she understands that progress usually takes consistency, trust and support from others.

Her experience also reminds us that there is more to every colleague than a role or job title. People bring different interests, goals and talents into the workplace. Taking the time to understand these parts of one another helps build stronger relationships, deeper trust and a culture where people feel they belong.

Earlier this year, Allianz Asia Pacific was recognised as a Certified™ Great Place to Work® in Singapore for the fourth consecutive year, with more than 85% of employees recognising Allianz Asia Pacific as a great place to work. Across the region, all eight of our operating entities have also achieved Great Place to Work® certification.

While we are proud of this recognition, what matters most are the everyday moments behind it, the encouragement between colleagues, the friendships built across teams and the opportunities for people to grow both professionally and personally. A supportive workplace is not only created through formal programmes. It also comes from colleagues checking in, encouraging one another and recognising the person behind the role.

Lay Beng's journey is one example of that culture in action.

Across different teams, businesses and markets, colleagues support one another, celebrate each other's achievements and encourage one another to pursue their aspirations beyond the workplace. These everyday moments bring the spirit of One Allianz to life and reflect the Power of Unity that connects us across Asia.

Team Asia

As Lay Beng continues her journey, she carries more than months of preparation.

She carries the encouragement of colleagues across the region.

She carries the belief that extraordinary journeys become possible when people are empowered to pursue their passions and supported by those around them.

Because behind every achievement is more than determination.

Behind every achievement is a team that believes in you.
